Lent is a special season to deepen our love for God and for others. It is a time to pray more, reflect quietly, and live with a humble heart as we prepare for Easter.

Here are four simple spiritual lessons from St. Teresa of Avila to help you live a holy Lent.

1. Focus on Christ

Lent is not only about giving up things. The main goal is to grow closer to Jesus. Our sacrifices should come from love, not from the desire to suffer.

2. Pray Simply

Prayer is talking with God who loves us. Spend quiet time with Jesus and keep your heart humble.

3. Practice Detachment

Try to free your heart from things that control you too much. Detachment does not mean stopping love. It means loving God first and keeping a peaceful heart.
