ICPA Convention in Mangalore Set to Promote Gandhian Journalism

The Indian Catholic Press Association (ICPA) is gearing up to host its 29th Annual Convention and Award Programme on October 1 and 2, 2024, at CODP Padua, Mangalore. The event, themed "Gandhian Journalism: Upholding Truth, Justice & Non-Violence," aims to inspire journalists to embody Mahatma Gandhi's principles in their reporting.
Bishop Peter Paul Saldanha of Mangalore will inaugurate the convention on October 1 at 7:00 pm, with MLC Ivan Dsouza and Bishop Henry Dsouza of Bellary as Guests of Honour.
The following day, a panel discussion will feature retired Justice Nagmohan Das delivering the Key-Note Address. Renowned experts, including Dr. Purushoththam Bilimale, Dr. Anupama H.S., and Cedric Prakash SJ, will share their insights, moderated by Joshan Rodrigues, Editor of The Examiner.
Karnataka Legislative Assembly Speaker UT Khader will grace the Award Ceremony, honouring outstanding media persons , Dr. Shaison P. Ouseph, Vinayaka Nirmal, and Fr Antony Pancras, the chief editor of The New Leader Weekly.
Hosted by Raknno Weekly and sponsored by Leksa Lighting Technologies, this national event is expected to draw journalists from across India, fostering meaningful discussions and networking opportunities.
ICPA's convention reinforces the importance of ethical journalism in promoting truth, justice, and non-violence in today's media landscape.
